Places To Go
Quality Matters
Terengganu not only famous for its beautiful beaches, but there are also many other places that you can visit and do some activities.
Wandering around Terennganu, you'll discern the nature of beauty and fall in love in this stunning state.
Pulau Redang
Located 45km off the coast of Kuala Terengganu, Pulau Redang is the largest of a group of nine protected islands dotting the South China Sea off the Terengganu coast. The island offers crystal clear waters and numerous dive sites for enthusiasts. Tourists here can go snorkeling or scuba diving to see the beauty of coral reefs here. At midday when sun rays penetrate the sea, brilliant hues of coral, anemones and fish can be seen. The boat ride from Shahbandar Jetty to Pulau Redang takes 1 hour 30 minutes whereas from Merang Jetty in 45 minutes.

Pulau Perhentian
Pulau Perhentian, meaning 'stopover island', is not to be missed. Situated 21km off the coast of Terengganu, it consists of the islands of Pulau Perhentian Besar and Pulau Perhentian Kecil. Covered by unspoilt jungle, windswept palms, powdery white beaches and surrounded by sapphire blue waters. If you like diving activities to see marine life and coral reefs, Perhentian Island is highly recommended for you on vacation.
Masjid Tengku Tengah Zaharah
Masjid Tengku Tengah Zaharah is the first real floating mosque in Malaysia. If you look from far, it will seem like floating. It is located in Kuala Ibai Lagoon near the estuary of Kuala Ibai River, 4 km from Kuala Terengganu Town.  If you are on holiday to Kuala Terengganu on Friday, do not miss the opportunity to pray Friday here.
Pusat Santuari Penyu Rantau Abang
Now the turtle species is getting extinct and it's hard to see turtle laying in Terengganu. At Pusat Santuari Penyu, tourists can see and learn more about turtles as Majlis Penasihat Santuari Penyu Negeri Terengganu is responsible for all forms of protection, conservation and management of turtles in Terengganu Darul Iman.
Imagine an adorable fleet of tiny turtles flopping their way towards sea, leaving the beach behind them until their miraculously return, years later, to nest at the exact site of their birth. For lovers of nature and all things cute, witnessing a sea turtle hatch will be an unforgettable experience.
